What? August already? Where did the year go?
These dog days of summer are about the time of year when I wonder if I advanced my factoring business.
Did I meet my goals?
Although many people focus on how much money they made, not all goals are financial related.
You might want more free time, streamlined marketing, or just to have more fun. Only you can decide your goals.
The important thing to do at this point in the year is realize that it is never too late to accomplish them.
No, this isn’t going to turn into some warm fuzzy article about finding your inner self and conquering the day. There is probably someone better suited on television for that.
No, I just want to share that it is not too late to make 2012 a great (or better) year.
Here are a couple quick things you can do to boost your business.
1. Improve your factoring website.
People are out there searching for factoring services right now. Are they able to find you? Does your site look professional?
Keep in mind it doesn’t matter if YOU like your site. It matters if the potential client does and takes action!

2. Make contact with some new people.
Sure it is great keeping up with existing lead sources, but you should be spending more than half your time looking for new ones. When was the last time you went to a meeting at your local Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, or some sort of business networking group?
3. Learn more.
There is a lot of great information on the Internet. We have hundreds of Factoring Articles on FactoringInvestor.com alone. Not only can you learn new things, reading industry info just might spark a really good marketing idea that helps you excel in 2012.
4. Revisit your current marketing.
It is not uncommon for someone to keep a marketing campaign that paid off once or twice, but has not produced any real results for some time. That is wasted time (and money). Can you tweak the campaign or is it time to move on to something else?
5. Did you have goals when you started 2012?
If not, why wait for Jan 1 to set them? Expanding and growing your business does not know what “date” it is. If you don’t have long and short-term goals sitting in front of you right now…start writing them!
It is easy to think that August begins the winding down of the year. The fact of the matter is that you still have almost FIVE MONTHS left – so it is anything but over! Focus on what can move your factoring business forward and enjoy the results in 2012 and beyond.
